What is Shared Branching?

   Co-Op Shared Branching

SELCCU belongs to Credit Union Service Centers, a network of credit unions from all over the country that share facilities to give members thousands of convenient locations to perform transactions just as if they were in their home credit union. Also referred to as Shared Branching, it demonstrates the cooperative spirit of the credit union movement.

Right now, we have two locations to serve more than 13,000 members, but there are more than 5,000 Shared Branching locations across the U.S. This puts us on par with at least two of the largest banks in America (and even they don’t have locations in all 50 states).

Shared Branching is another convenient way for you to conduct a range of transactions, such as:
  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Loan payments
  • Transfers between accounts
  • Purchase money orders, travelers checks and official checks*
*May not be available at all outlets and locations.

To take advantage of this service, when you enter a shared branch you only need to bring:

  • Your home credit union's name
  • Your account number
  • Valid government ID

Now, whether you are at work, home, or your favorite travel destination, your credit union is always nearby. This means if you ever leave the area for work or school, you won’t have to close your account at SELCCU. Click here for more information or to download the Shared Branching App on your device.
